The Hills is an exclusive 20 bed inpatient treatment center for a wide range of addiction and co-occurring issues with the aim to create a healthy mind and body. We are located in the beautiful foothills of Northern Thailand in the vibrant city of Chiang Mai, about 30 minutes from the airport. The peaceful and serene environment has been specifically designed for healing with our client’s privacy in mind as the secluded mountainside location assures the comforts of 5-star resorts as well as anonymity and privacy, which we take very seriously.
Travelling overseas to ‘the land of smiles’ for treatment allows clients to be at far reach from their triggers. The Hills boasts an Onsite Medical Clinic with 24-hour nursing private luxurious villas, delicious Thai and Western cuisine, individual and group therapy sessions, fitness, mindfulness and massage therapy, excursions and aftercare.

The Hills is the only treatment center in Thailand with an Onsite Medical Clinic. We are able to offer clients medically supervised detox in the comfort of your own room with nursing support 24 hours a day. Detox is not required by each client and for those who need detox, your needs will be assessed by Thailand’s foremost expert on addiction. The medical team will ensure you are as comfortable as possible while being pampered by Thai hospitality.

Dr. Tanrin Hiranwong is a licensed psychiatrist at The Hills Rehab with expertise in mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and psychotherapy including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Family Therapy. With experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, Dr. Hiranwong combines evidence-based medicine with a holistic approach to mental health and well-being.
Dr.Chayanis is a General Practitioner with a deep interest in psychology and mental well-being.She believes that true recovery begins with understanding both the body and the mind. With a compassionate and holistic approach, Dr.Chayanis supports clients through personalized medical care while working closely with the multidisciplinary team to promote sustainable healing and long-term recovery.
Yuri is a registered psychologist and certified EMDR and trauma therapist with a focus on family and addictions. She has run private practices in various countries over the past 20 years as well as worked in inpatient treatment centers. She is dedicated to helping clients in a meaningful way and excels at individual psychotherapy to help clients lead more fulfilling lives.
Moe is the Deputy Clinical Director at The Hills Chiang Mai, bringing nearly a decade of experience working in international residential treatment centres across South Africa, Thailand, and Malaysia. He is a psychotherapist registered with the International Council of Integrative Psychotherapists (MICIP) and holds a postgraduate qualification in Traumatology from the UK, alongside approved clinical supervision training from the United States. Karusha Pather is a registered Social Worker (Reg. No: 1050987) from South Africa. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work, specialising in Addiction, with advanced training and experience in the assessment and treatment of substance use disorders, process addictions and dual diagnosis.
Her Master’s thesis, “Ayurveda as a Model of Intervention in Treating Substance Use Disorders in Adults: A Systematic Review,” explored integrative and holistic models of addiction treatment, emphasizing the importance of a mind–body approach alongside evidence-based therapeutic practices.
Karusha has strong international clinical expertise in the addictions field, working with both substance-related and behavioural/process addictions, as well as complex dual diagnosis. She delivers treatment across individual and group settings and is skilled in early intervention, primary treatment, and aftercare services, incorporating evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
Her practice is client-centred, trauma-informed, and clinically grounded, focusing on accountability, emotional regulation, and sustainable recovery. She is committed to providing structured, compassionate, and results-driven care that supports long-term healing and meaningful change.
Ahmed is an addiction and family therapist who uses various modalities such as CBT and DBT and has over 16 years experience working in inpatient treatment centers. His gentle and professional touch helps clients and families gain a clear understanding of addiction issues and helps them implement tools to prevent relapse.
Psychotherapist trained in Humanistic Psychotherapy, with specialization in Somatic Psychotherapy (Biosynthesis). Works in an addiction rehabilitation center, supporting therapeutic processes focused on trauma, emotional regulation, and mind–body integration.
Wendy is a compassionate and dedicated professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and specialized training in Brainspotting and Internal Family Systems (IFS) trauma-informed therapy. With a strong foundation in psychological principles, Wendy brings a holistic and empathetic approach to her work. Her experience in addiction counseling has equipped her with the skills to support individuals struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues. Wendy’s commitment to trauma-informed care and her expertise in Brainspotting and IFS techniques allows her to provide a safe and nurturing space for clients to heal and thrive. She is dedicated to helping individuals navigate their personal journeys towards recovery and well-being.
Peter Maplethorpe was a previous founder of The Cabin in 2010 so brings a wealth of experience to The Hills.
